Star Power: Five Star Quilt Block & Five Star Variation Quilt Block

Five Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (scant 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 2 7/8″ square. (This will be the center of this quilt block.)
Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These will be flanked on both sides, by the results of the Light Pink 3 1/4″ squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Light Pink 2 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
Light Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Green 2 7/8″ squares. They will also flank the Yellow 2 7/8″ square as needed for this quilt block.)
Light Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will be paired with the Pink 3 1/4″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Light Pink 3 1/4″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) â€œFive Star Quilt Blocks,â€ you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.

Five Star Variation Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (scant 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Lilac: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These will be flanked on two sides by the results of the White 3 1/4″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
Peach: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/4″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 1/4″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
White: Cut ONE (1) 7 3/4″ square. (This will be the center of this quilt block.)
White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Peach 3 1/4″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)

Cups & Saucers Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (scant 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Mocha: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This will be the center of this quilt block.)
Mocha: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Cream 4 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
Mocha: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Cream 5 1/4″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
Cream: Cut TWO 4 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Mocha 4 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
Cream: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per triangle. (These will be flanked by the Mocha 2 7/8″ squares. which will create EIGHT (8) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)

Sawtooth Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (scant 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Purple: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Pink 4 3/4″ square, which will create a Square in a Square & will also be the center of this quilt block.)
Light Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Light Pink: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/2″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the Bright Pink 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
Bright Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Light Pink 7 1/2″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
