Roads Star Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Pink: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the White 5 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Pink 2 7/8″ squares. They’ll also help create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Pink 2 7/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the Blue 5 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Roads Star Quilt Blocks,” you’ll end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.

- Aqua: Cut FIVE (5) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create TEN (10) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. TWO (2) of these Half-Square Triangles will help create the center of this quilt block.)
- Green: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TEN (10) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Aqua 5 1/4″ squares. They’ll also help create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FIVE (5) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Aqua 2 7/8″ squares which will create TEN (10) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.
