Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 1/2″ squares.
- Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 3/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
- Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 1/2″ squares.
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 3/4″ squares.
- White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square.
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 4 2/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.

Is there instructions on how to put the blocks together? I’m more of a beginner and need the “how-to’s”.
Hi Sandy! If you look at some of the later quilt blocks that I’ve created, you’ll see that they give you much better “how-to’s,” than this block does. So why don’t you try some of those instead of sewing this one together?
