Union Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (scant 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Dark Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
Dark Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut SIX (6) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8â€³ squares, which will create TWELVE (12) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
White: Cut SIX (6) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side the square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 2 7/8â€³ squares, which will create TWELVE (12) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Youâ€™ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Dark Blue 5 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)

Dark Teal: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
Teal: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square.
Teal: Cut SIX (6) 2 3/4″ squares. (These will be paired with SIX (6) of the White 2 3/4â€³ squares to create half-square triangles.)
Teal: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 3/4″ squares. On the back side the square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will be paired with the Dark Teal 2 3/4â€³ and the Teal 2 3/4â€³ squares to create half-square triangles.)

Purple: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ square. (This is the center of the star in the lower left-hand corner of this quilt block.)
Purple: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
Gray: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ square. (This is the center of the star in the upper right-hand corner of this quilt block.)

Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/4″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8â€³ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
White: Cut SIX (6) 2 7/8″ squares. (FOUR (4) of these will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block. The remaining TWO (2) are paired with the Yellow 2 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)

Light Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares which will create TWO (2) Four-Patch’s. ONE (1) of these Four-Patch’s will be the upper left-hand corner of this quilt block. The remaining ONE (1) of them will be the lower right-hand corner of this quilt block.)
Light Green: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Medium Green 2 1/2″ squares, which will create ONE (1) Four-Patch, which will be the center of this quilt block.)
Medium Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares which will create TWO (2) Four-Patch’s. ONE (1) of these Four-Patch’s will be the upper right-hand corner of this quilt block. The remaining ONE (1) of them will be the lower left-hand corner of this quilt block.)
