Lone Star Duet Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Purple: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ square. (This is the center of the star in the lower left-hand corner of this quilt block.)
- Purple: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Gray: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ square. (This is the center of the star in the upper right-hand corner of this quilt block.)
- Gray: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corner’s of each of the TWO (2) stars as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 6 1/2″ squares. (These are the upper left-hand & lower right-hand corner’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Purple 3 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Gray 3 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
