Flashback Tuesday: Monster’s Hugs & Moochies from BOMquilts.com

Quilt Therapy Posted on February 24, 2015 by TK HarrisonFebruary 22, 2015

I make a lot of quilt designs and quilts that entail X’s and O’s, hugs and moochies.  This is one of my favorite go-to patterns when I need to make a quick and easy quilt for someone specical:

Flashback Tuesday: Log Cabin Off Kilter an Original Design by TK Harrison

Quilt Therapy Posted on February 10, 2015 by TK HarrisonFebruary 8, 2015

I absolute LOVE <3 Log Cabin quilts.  In fact, I love them so much that my wedding quilt is a Log Cabin quilt.  And I tied the quilt instead of having it quilted.  That plays right into the historical nature of the Log Cabin quilt.  Also following along through the Log Cabin quilt history, I have found this quote from “Quick Views:

“A red center symbolized the hearth of home, and a yellow center represented a welcoming light in the window.” from Log Cabin Quilts – A Short History at QuiltViews.com.

In making my own version/vision of a fun Log Cabin quilt for a dear niece, I enjoyed creating “Log Cabin Off Kilter”:

Flashback Tuesday: Subtle Skies Table Runner designed by TK Harrison from BOMquilts.com

Quilt Therapy Posted on January 27, 2015 by TK HarrisonJanuary 26, 2015

I set our Christmas dinner table with a table runner I had designed and made a number of years ago (Holly Jolly Funtabulous Star Quick Table Runner from BOMquilts.com) and when it was time to put the Christmas decorations away, I realized how much I really loved the size of that table runner for our table.  So, I declare that for 2015, I will design and showcase at least six new free table runner patterns on BOMquilts.com.

So let’s start January 2015 with a previous table runner I designed so I can work on a new one for February – and this one is also one of the wider ones I’ve designed, too!  This is perfect for non-holiday weeks/months and is so very beginner friendly, with all straight pieces to put together:

Flashback Tuesday: Cinnamon-Teen Chocolate Figs and Roses Block of the Month Quilt from BOMquilts.com

Quilt Therapy Posted on January 20, 2015 by TK HarrisonJanuary 19, 2015

Since we will be embarking on a new 2015 block of the month quilt in the coming days, I thought it would be only fitting to flashback on my first block of the month quilt I ever designed from 2006.  This quilt will never go out of style, especially if you love traditional piecing as I do, just substitute a light, medium and dark fabric with your own color choices and enjoy the timeless beauty of piecing this quilt.

Flashback Tuesday: Calendar Quilt from BOMquilts.com

Quilt Therapy Posted on January 13, 2015 by TK HarrisonJanuary 12, 2015

What a fun and challenging quilt for my 2007 block of the month quilt design from BOMquilts.com was!  The design itself was a challenge because there were a lot of squares in the quilt.  It was also a challenge because we were living in our camper (two adults, four kids, two dogs).  All of my quilting supplies were stored under our bed so I’d get everything I needed out before my husband laid down.  Then I would set up my sewing, cutting and ironing stations from the dining area to the living area.  To say it was cramped quarters is putting it mildly!  But, I did it – and it is still beautiful!  Go ahead, have some fun with this Calendar Quilt from BOMquilts.com!
