Neighborhood Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (scant 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Blue: Cut TWO (2) 5 3/4″ squares.Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the Green 3″ squares. They are also paired with the results of the White 3 3/4″ squares. Once they are all sewn together they will create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Green: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the White 3 3/4″ squares. They are also paired with the results of the Blue 5 3/4″ squares. Once they are all sewn together they will create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Green: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the Red 3″ squares.)
Green: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the Red 3″ squares. Once they are sewn together they will create TWO (2) Four-Patches in the center of this quilt block.)
Green: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank ONE (1) side of the results of the White 6 3/8″ square. Once they are sewn together with the results of the Red 3 3/4″ squares they will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
Red: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the White 3 3/4″ squares. They are also paired with the results of the Blue 5 3/4″ squares. Once they are all sewn together they will create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Red: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the Green 3″ squares.)
Red: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the Green 3″ squares. Once they are sewn together they will create TWO (2) Four-Patches in the center of this quilt block.)
Red: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank ONE (1) side of the results of the White 6 3/8″ square. Once they are sewn together with the results of the Green 3 3/4″ squares they will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)

Once they are all sewn together they will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)

Neighborhood Star Variation Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (scant 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 5 3/4″ squares.Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the Yellow/Blue Half-Square Triangles. They are also paired with the results of the White
3 3/4″ squares. Once they are all sewn together they will create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with either the Blue 3 3/4″ squares or the Purple 3 3/4″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They will also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the Purple 3″ squares.)
Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the Purple 3″ squares. Once they are sewn together they will create TWO (2) Four-Patches in the center of this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/4″ square. (These are paired with the Yellow 3 3/4″ square which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. Then they are paired with the results of the White 3 3/4″ squares. They are also paired with the results of the Yellow 5 3/4″ squares. Once they are all sewn together they will create TWO (2) corners of this quilt block.

Lt. Green: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Dk. Green 4 7/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. Once it is sewn together it will be the center of this quilt block.)
Lt. Green: Cut TWO (2) 6 3/8″ square.Â Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Green 6 3/8″ square which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles. Once they are sewn together they will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Green: Cut TWO (2) 6 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Lt. Green 6 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles. Once they are sewn together they will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Green: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ x 5″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Dk. Green/White Flying Geese.)

Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. (These are the center of this quilt block. They are flanked by the results of the White 4 3/8″ square.)
Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ x 6 5/8″ rectangles. (These are paired on the long side with the results of the White 5 3/4″ squares in the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
White: Cut ONE (1) 4 3/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles will flank the Blue 2 3/8″ squares in the center of this quilt block. Then they are paired with the results of the White 6 5/8″ square.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 5 3/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They are paired with the long side of the Blue 3 7/8″ x 6 5/8″ rectangles.)

Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/4″ square. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This is paired with the Aqua 3 3/4″ square which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. Once sewn together with the Yellow/Blue Half-Square Triangles they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)
Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/4″ square. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This is paired with the Blue 3 3/4″ square which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles.
