Maple Leaves Falling On the Table Featured in October Issue of The Quilt Pattern Magazine

Quilt Therapy Posted on October 2, 2014 by TK HarrisonOctober 1, 2014

Oh how FUN it is to see one of my original designs and patterns in the October 2014 issue of The Quilt Pattern Magazine!   I rarely remember to write down the months that my designs will be featured, so it’s always a lovely surprise when I download a copy of The Quilt Pattern Magazine each month!

The October 2014 issue features the perfect fall table topper, which can be easily and quickly put together (including domestic machine quilting in a cross-hatch pattern and binding) in around six hours for an advanced quilter and a great weekend quilt project for a beginner who is comfortable sewing half-square triangles.  And it is all made with fabric scraps from my stash!

The name of this table topper is quite fitting, too – “Maple Leaves Falling On the Table“:

LeavesFalling

You are sure to enjoy everything in each issue of The Quilt Pattern Magazine, but for the October issue – look for ME!  🙂

Flashback Tuesday: Faded Baskets Table Topper

Quilt Therapy Posted on September 30, 2014 by TK HarrisonSeptember 30, 2014

Although the fabrics used to create this table topper are springtime colors, this is a lovely table topper that can be made with any seasonal colors!  That’s one of the reasons I like to showcase my older designs and patterns from BOMquilts.com, because they are timeless (and free!).

Flashback Tuesday: Cowboy Boot Scoot Original Pattern from BOMquilts.com

Quilt Therapy Posted on September 23, 2014 by TK HarrisonSeptember 22, 2014

There are so many fun quilts made with a cowboy boot applique, this is the version I chose to make in 2007, my Cowboy Boot Scoot Original Pattern from BOMquilts.com:

When I made this quilt, I made an extra boot block and recently unearthed it, donating it to the quilt ladies at our church.  This is how one of the quilters used my boot block:

As I’ve said for most of my Flashback Tuesday posts – it’s always fun to revisit the free quilt patterns at BOMquilts.com because very few quilt patterns ever go out of style – just need to use different fabrics and in a few years, you can call the pattern retro!  🙂

High Quality Batiks in Vibrant Colors at Batik

Quilt Therapy Posted on September 18, 2014 by TK HarrisonSeptember 15, 2014

When I received the batik fabric from the distributor for BatikDeals.com, I almost laid down on it.  The colors are SO VERY vibrant and they are the real deal.  As there have been many knock-offs of batiks, true batiks are almost the same on the front and back – and these are true batiks.  Just look at the colors!
