Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Red: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/4″ squares.
  • Red: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/4″ x 7 3/4″ strips.
  • Pink: Cut EIGHT (8) 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares.
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 3 1/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Pink 3 1/4″ squares to make half-square triangles.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Brown: Cut SIX (6) 1 3/4″ squares.
  • Light Pink: Cut SIX (6) 2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Pink: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Pink 3 1/4″ squares to make half-square triangles. You will end up making EIGHT (8) half-square triangles, but you only need SEVEN (7) half-square triangles for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles. (You only need ONE (1) of these triangles to make this quilt block.)
  • To create the “handle” for the basket, you can either embroider it with a back-stitch (or whatever stitch suits your fancy) or sew it on with your sewing machine with a running stitch on your quilt block.

  • Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 3/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Light Gray: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Gray: Cut FOUR (4) 1 3/4″ squares.
  • Gray: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square.
  • Gray: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 3/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Blue 2 3/4″ squares to make half-square triangles.)
  • White: Cut TWO (1) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.

  • Dark Green: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.

  • Blue: Cut THREE (3) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
  • Blue: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/4″ squares.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strips.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
