Have ya’ll been following along on my BOM quilt listed on my sister-site?
If you have been, then you’re almost finished with putting your “Harry Loves Alice” quilt together!
If you haven’t been, what’s keeping you from making it?

This month’s quilt block, that was revealed on October 20th, is called “Block 9 – Yankee Puzzle“!
It’s a beautiful quilt block to make & to look at.

This block is all about Half-Square Triangles. Gotta love ’em 🙂 by now, if you’ve been following along & making the “Harry Loves Alice” previous quilt blocks!

I have had SO MUCH FUN making this quilt! 🙂 If you’re not making it, I hope you’re at least downloading and/or printing the patterns, so that you can make them sooner than later!

This block was revealed on May 20, 2019 and it’s a really great lesson in making more half-square triangles (HST). This whole quilt is full of HST so if you’re not so good at making them beforehand, you should become quite accomplished, by the time you’re finished with “Harry Loves Alice”. If you’re already an accomplished HST maker then here’s your chance to perfect your HST craft!

I couldn’t let you forget “Harry Loves Alice” now could I? Nope, not a chance of that happening anytime soon! 😉

This entire quilt is a basically a lesson in half-square triangles. For those more advanced quilters, it’ll give you the opportunity to perfect your craft. For beginning quilters, sewing these quilt blocks together should help you see that they’re not as difficult as they appear. In fact, I suggest that you start out by making the first THREE (3) quilt blocks out of your scrap stash, just to see how well you can hone your half-square triangle craft. Once you feel you know how to put half-square triangles together, then make the quilt blocks again using the fabrics from your AbbiMays.com quilt kit 😀 or the fabrics you picked out to make this quilt.

The fabric requirements for “Harry Loves Alice” quilt were posted on January 20th. The first quilt block was posted on February 20th.

By the end of that first year, she was able to transition all of her eBay customers to her new website and close down her eBay account. Within five years, she’d outgrown the shopping cart that I’d set up for her so she’s since moved on to bigger and better. But she’s continued to send me luscious, luxurious, eye-candy quilt fabric. Oh me, oh my, do I love what she’s done in filling up my baskets in my quilt studio! ☺️
