Star Power: Glitter Star Quilt Block & Glitter Star Variation Quilt Block

Glitter Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 5/8″ squares. (These are flanked by the results of the White 2 5/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut FIVE (5) 3 1/2″ squares. (ONE (1) of these is the center of this quilt block. They’re all paired with the Square in a Squares as needed for this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Flying Geese on TWO (2) sides as needed for this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are flanked by the results of the White 2 3/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 5/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Lilac 2 5/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 5/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Lilac 4 1/4″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

Lilac: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Lilac: Cut FIVE (5) 2 5/8″ squares. (These are flanked by the results of the White 2 5/8″ squares which will create FIVE (5) Square in a Squares, as needed for this quilt block. ONE (1) of these Square in a Squares is the center of this quilt block.)
Lilac: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are all paired with the Square in a Squares as needed for this quilt block.)
Lilac: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Flying Geese on TWO (2) sides as needed for this quilt block.)

Dk. Green: Cut FOUR (4) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Quarter-Square Triangles as needed for this quilt block.)
Ash Green: Cut THREE (3) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. You only need TEN (10) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These are paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares which will create FIVE (5) Quarter-Square Triangles. ONE (1) of these Quarter-Square Triangles is the center of this quilt block. The remaining FOUR (4) of these Quarter-Square Triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
White: Cut THREE (3) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. Aqua: Cut TEN (10) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create TWENTY (20) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these HST’s are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Teal: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 4 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. When all FOUR (4) of the HST’s are sewn together they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)
White: Cut TEN (10) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Aqua 2 7/8″ squares which will create TWENTY (20) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these HST’s are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)

Night Vision Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

Navy Blue: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut ONE (1) 9 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need THREE (3) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These are flanked by the results of the Aqua 4 7/8″ squares. They’re also flanked by the results of the Purple 4 7/8″ squares. When all sewn together they’ll create THREE (3) Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. (This is paired with the Purple 4 7/8″ square which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these HST’s for this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. (This is paired with the Aqua 4 7/8″ square which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these HST’s for this quilt block. It’ll also be the lower right-hand corner of this quilt block.)
Purple: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. You only need THREE (3) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These will flank ONE (1) side of the results of the Blue 9 1/4″ square. When sewn together with the results of the Aqua 4 7/8″ squares, they’ll create THREE (3) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
Purple: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This is paired with the Blue 4 7/8″ square which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these HST’s for this quilt block.)
Aqua: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This is paired with the Blue 4 7/8″ square which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these HST’s for this quilt block. It’ll also be the lower right-hand corner of this quilt block.)
Aqua: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. You only need THREE (3) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’ll flank ONE (1) side of the results of the Blue 9 1/4″ square. Together with the results of the Purple
4 7/8″ squares they’ll create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
