Pineapple Star Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Yellow: Cut THIRTY-TWO (32) 1 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with all of the White rectangles, which will create THIRTY-TWO (32) Snowball Corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank the White 2 1/2″ square which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank the White 3 1/2″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s flanked by the results of the Yellow 3 1/4″ squares which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re flanked by the results of the Yellow 4 1/4″ squares.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Yellow 4 1/4″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/4″ x 4″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Yellow 1 7/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Snowball Corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Yellow 1 7/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Snowball Corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
