Wild Irish Rose Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Red: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. These are paired with the Pink 3 3/8″ squares. Together with the White 3 3/8″ square they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Red 3 3/8″ squares as well as the White 3 3/8″ square. Together they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. These are paired with the results of thee Bright Pink 2 7/8″ squares & they’re also paired with the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares. Together they’ll create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles as needed for this quilt block.)
- Bright Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Pink 2 7/8″ squares & they’re also paired with the results of thee White 2 7/8″ squares. Together they’ll create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s paired with the Pink 3 3/8″ squares. Together with the Red 3 3/8″ squares they’ll create the center portion of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Pink 2 7/8″ squares & they’re also paired with the results of thee Bright Pink 2 7/8″ squares. Together they’ll create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are the FOUR (2) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank TWO (2) sides of the Red 3 3/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
