Traditional T Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 3 3/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. These are paired with the Blue 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners. Then they’re flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- Blue: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares. Then they’re paired with the results of the White 4 7/8″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s paired with the Blue 3 3/8″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the Blue
3 3/8″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.) - White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Blue 5 1/4″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re paired with the results of the Blue 5 1/4″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)

If you sew TWELVE (12) “Traditional T Quilt Blocks” you’ll end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
