Prairie Flower Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Lt. Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 4 1/2″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Snowball Corners, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 2 7/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Snowball Corners, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- Dk. Blue: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares, then they’re paired with the White 3 3/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares. They’ll also create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Dk. Blue 2 7/8″ squares, then they’re paired with the White 3 3/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares. They’ll also create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block as needed to sew it together)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are paired on TWO (2) sides by the Dk. Blue
2 7/8″ squares. Then they’re paired on the other TWO (2) sides by the White 2 7/8″ squares. All together they’ll create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block when sewn together.) - White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)

If you sew TWELVE (12) “Prairie Flower Quilt Blocks” you’ll end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
