Kitty Cat Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Gray: Cut TWO (2) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together. These will be the Kitty Cat’s ears.)
- Gray: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are the Kitty Cat’s legs. They’re paired with the White 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles.)
- Gray: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are the Kitty Cat’s bodies. They’re sandwiched between the Kitty Cat’s ears & the Kitty Cat’s legs.)
- Black: Cut TWO (2) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together. These will be the Kitty Cat’s ears.)
- Black: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are the Kitty Cat’s legs. They’re paired with the White 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles.)
- Black: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are the Kitty Cat’s bodies. They’re sandwiched between the Kitty Cat’s ears & the Kitty Cat’s legs.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ squares. (These are sandwiched between the Gray/White Half-Square Triangles (the Kitty Cat’s Gray ears) & they’re also sandwiched between the Black/White Half-Square Triangles (the Kitty Cat’s Black ears) . All are needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 1 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Gray 1 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together. These will be the Kitty Cat’s ears.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 1 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Black 1 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together. These will be the Kitty Cat’s ears.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Gray 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles (The Kitty Cat’s Gray legs). They’re also paired with the Black 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles (The Kitty Cat’s Black legs). All are needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares. (ONE (1) of these is the lower left-hand corner of this quilt block. They’re paired with each other in order to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut THREE (3) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles. (These are the upper left-hand, the upper right-hand & the lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
