Battle of the Alamo Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Teal: Cut TEN (10) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares & they’ll create TWO (2) Nine-Patch squares. They’ll also be the upper left-hand & lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
- Teal: Cut THREE (3) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the results of White 2 7/8″ squares, which will create SIX (6) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Teal: Cut ONE (1) 6 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These are the lower left-hand & the upper right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Teal 2 1/2″ squares & they’ll create TWO (2) Nine-Patch squares. They’ll also be the upper left-hand & lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut THREE (3) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the results of Teal 2 7/8″ squares, which will create SIX (6) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut THREE (3) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Teal 6 7/8″ squares on ONE (1) side as needed for this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Battle of the Alamo Quilt Blocks,” you’ll end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
