Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Teal: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. (This is paired with the Blue 4 7/8″ squares which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the lower left-hand & upper right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
- Teal: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Blue 2 1/2″ squares which will create ONE (1) Four-Patch. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This is paired with the Teal 4 7/8″ squares which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the lower left-hand & upper right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Teal 2 1/2″ squares which will create ONE (1) Four-Patch. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut TWO 2) 4 1/2″ squares. (These will be the upper left-hand & the lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Four-Patch in the center of this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Hourglass Quilt Blocks,” you’ll end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
