Quilted Kitchen: Wild Goose Chase Quilt Block & Goose Tart Recipe
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Blue: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will be flanked by the results of the White 2 3/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Purple: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will be flanked by the results of the White 2 3/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Purple: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the White 4 1/4″ square, which will create TWO (2) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (3) 3 1/2″ squares. (These will be the upper right-hand corner & lower left-hand corner’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the Purple 4 1/4″ square, which will create TWO (2) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will flank the results of the Blue 4 1/4″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will flank the results of the Purple
4 1/4″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.) - White: Cut ONE (1) 6 1/2″ square. (This will be the center of this quilt block.)
