Shooting Star Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Light Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- Light Blue: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Navy Blue 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ x 6 7/8″ strips. (These are paired with the Navy Blue 3 1/2″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) strips with Snowball Corner’s, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Navy Blue: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Light Blue 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Navy Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 3 1/2″ x 6 7/8″ strips, which will create FOUR (4) strips with Snowball Corner’s, as needed for this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Shooting Star Quilt Blocks,” you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
Shooting Star Variation Quilt Block

- Purple: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Light Purple 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Purple: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Dark Purple 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Dark Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Lilac 3 1/2″ x 6 7/8″ strips, which will create FOUR (4) strips with Snowball Corner’s, as needed for this quilt block.)
