Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Blue: Cut SIX (6) 3 1/2″ squares. (FOUR (4) of these will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block. TWO (2) of these are paired with the White 3 1/2″ squares to create a Four-Patch that’s the center of this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Blue 3 1/2″ squares, to create a Four-Patch, which will also be the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the Pink 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Indian Star Quilt Blocks,” you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.

- Blue: Cut FIVE (5) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the FOUR (4) White 2 1/2″ squares, to create a Nine-Patch, which will also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
