Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (scant 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles will flank the Green 3 3/8″ square in the center of this quilt block. Which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)
Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These squares are flanked by the results of the Green
3 1/4″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares.)
Green: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s flanked by the results of the Yellow 3 1/4″ square. Which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)
Green: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the Yellow 3 3/8″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares.)

The best way to sew this quilt block together is on the diagonal. Sew all of the Flying Geese & Square in a Square elements together first. Then sew either ONE of the center strips together (from one end to another). Next sew the TWO (2) remaining corners together. Finally sew the TWO (2) remaining corners to the center strip!
