Golden Gates Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

• Gold: Cut SIX (6) 3 3/4″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 3/4″ squares which will create TWELVE (12) Half-Square Triangles. ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles is the upper left-hand corner of this quilt block.)
• Gold: Cut SIX (6) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the Gold/White Half-Square Triangles on ONE (1) side. Then they are paired with the results of the White 7 3/4″ squares which will create FOUR (4) larger Half-Square Triangles.)
• White: Cut SIX (6) 3 3/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Gold 3 3/4″ squares which will create TWELVE (12) Half-Square Triangles. ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles is the upper left-hand corner of this quilt block.)
• White: Cut TWO (2) 7 3/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the results of the Gold 3 3/4″ squares which will create FOUR (4) larger Half-Square Triangles. These Half-Square Triangles will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
