Countdown to Christmas 12/23/2020: Christmas Tree Quilt Block

Christmas Tree Quilt Block Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!

Christmas Tree Quilt Block




Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Green: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ square. This is paired with the results of the White 2 7/8″ square & flanked by the results of the White 3 1/4″ square. As needed for this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut FIVE (5) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 1/2″ squares, which will create TEN (10) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Mint Green: Cut TWO (2) 6 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FIVE (5) 3 1/2″ squares. On the back side of the square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Green 3 1/2″ squares, which will create TEN (10) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: TWO (2) 2 5/8″ squares. (These are flanked by the results of the Green 3 1/2″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 2 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These are paired with the Green 2″ square as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: ONE (1) 2 1/2″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block. (This will flank the Green 2″ square as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 6 1/2″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block. (This is flanked on TWO (2) sides by the results of the Green 3 1/2″ squares. It’ll also be flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ square & the Green 2″ square. As needed for this quilt block.)
