On Cloud Nine: Valley Falls Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Pink: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patch portions. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut EIGHT (8) 3 1/2″ squares. On the back side the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the White 3 1/8″ x 7 7/8″ rectangles, which will create EIGHT (8) Snowball corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut TWO (2) 1 7/8″ x 4″ rectangles. (These will ‘frame’ the left & right sides of the White
4 1/2″ square which will help create the center of this quilt block.) - Pink: Cut TWO (2) 1 7/8″ x 7″ rectangles. (These will ‘frame’ the top & bottom of the White 4 1/2″ center square which will help create the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Pink 1 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patch portions. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/8″ x 7 7/8″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Pink 3 1/2″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Snowball corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This will be flanked by the Pink 1 7/8″ x 4″ rectangles & the Pink 1 7/8″ x 7″ rectangles. It’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Valley Falls Quilt Blocks,” you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
