Quilt Therapy Posted on March 19, 2020 by TK HarrisonMarch 14, 2020

The Irish Jig’s Probably the Most Distinctive & Recognizable Dance Style’s Around!
Irish love to dance & the Irish Jig is one of their favorite styles!

This month, “Ye Olde Irish Jig” is the free pattern, that members earn
for completing the Quilt Dash.

"Ye Olde Irish Jig Quilt" a free pattern, that Quilt Dash members can earn, if they finish the March 2020 Quilt Dash! Designed by TK Harrison!“Ye Olde Irish Jig”

This quilt block looks difficult to make, but it uses the Sew‐n‐Slashâ„¢ Method, developed by me 🙂 & that makes it sew together in a jiffy!

First you sew together the quilt block above.

It’s as simple (or hard, depending on how you want to look at it) as that!

“A Quilter’s Dream” at Quilt Dash this Month

Quilt Therapy Posted on February 20, 2020 by TK HarrisonFebruary 14, 2020

An optical illusion is something that deceives
the eye by appearing to be other than it is.

An Optical Illusion

That’s what’s happening with this month’s free quilt pattern over at Quilt Dash.
You don’t get the free pattern just for playing our Quilt Dash game. Oh no, you don’t 🙂 ! You must complete the Quilt Dash & then you’ll earn this month’s free quilt pattern.

Optical Illusion One

This beautiful quilt was designed by Phyllis Dobbs for Quilt Dash.

Here’s what Phyllis has to say about her quilt pattern: “Create a quilt that can be an optical illusion with this on-point quilt pattern consisting of half square triangles and quarter square triangles. Quilters Dream quilt pattern consists of 5 different 8” blocks. An alternate arrangement of the blocks is shown for another option of creating your quilt. The quilt size is 44” x 55 1/4.”

See what I mean? Isn’t it amazing how you can just move a few different blocks around & come up with a completely different quilt? I bet you could even change them around a couple more times & still have something different.
Each & every time!

Their wings are flapping, with the wind & against it.
Wherever are they going in such a hurry? One can never tell.
Just don’t get caught underneath them. If you know what I mean?!!

Are you Ready for Some “Christmas Cheer”?

Quilt Therapy Posted on November 21, 2019 by TK HarrisonNovember 16, 2019

“Christmas Cheer” is the name of the quilt pattern, that you can earn, if you complete the Quilt Dash game for November!

There’s two beautiful quilt blocks that make up the “Christmas Cheer” quilt!

Enjoy some “Christmas Cheer” with holiday red and white peppermint! This quilt is made with two “sweet” blocks. One block is pieced with an on-point pinwheel using red and white stripe and the other block has an appliqué peppermint candy cane. The pattern is easy to adjust to make a table runner, table topper, wall hanging, lap quilt or a full size bed quilt.

Great for the holidays for a no calorie treat! 🙂

Buh Bye Summer!

Quilt Therapy Posted on October 17, 2019 by TK HarrisonOctober 17, 2019

Unfortunately, we’ve had a couple of wet & chilly days here in south central Texas. Days where you just want to hunker down with a good book & wrap yourself up in a well-worn quilt for a quilty hug!

That’s what this month’s Quilt Dash’s free pattern is all about, “Summer Blues” is the name of it & I’m really sorry to see summer go. 🙁

This is one of those one-block quilt’s. You know the kind that I’m talking about, don’t you? You’ll need to make TWELVE (12) of the same block to make this beautiful quilt. I love these kinds of quilts because I can chain piece them so they sew together rather quickly!

"Summer Winds Quilt Block" the quilt block that's in the "Saying Goodbye to Summer" for the October 2019 Quilt Dash Free Pattern. Given to all Quilt Dash member's who complete the October 2019 Quilt Dash!“Summer Winds Quilt Block”

This is the one-block quilt that comprises the entirety of the “Summer Blues” free quilt pattern! It’s really quite simple to make, as long as you’re not afraid of making Half-Square triangles and Flying Geese! Then again, it *is* October, so you can be a skeerdy cat, if you wanna be! 🙂

If you’re a Quilt Dash member, you already know what to do…so do it! Lickedy split!
If you’re not a Quilt Dash member & you’d like to become one, just click on this link. Then follow the instructions. The PDF, that’s available to anyone, explains all that you need to know as a member!

Because I have a feeling that ya’ll are going to want to make this quilt! Summertime, fall or just about anytime you feel like it! 🙂
