Quilted Kitchen: Blueberry Patch & Blueberry-Cinnamon Muffins Recipe

Blueberry Patch

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Dark Purple:  Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares.
  • Darn Purple:  Cut ONE (1) 3 3/4″ square.  Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.  You will end up with TWO (2) triangles.
  • Dark Purple:  Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square.  Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2 times).  You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • Light Purple:  Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares.  Then cut each square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.  You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Medium Purple:  Cut ONE (1) 3 3/4″ square.  Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.  You will end up with TWO (2) triangles.
  • White:  Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares.
  • White:  Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares.  Then cut each square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.  You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.

Quilt Block Construction Diagram:

Using this image (above) as a guide, sew your Blueberry Patch together as you would a Nine-Patch block.

Quilted Kitchen: Buffalo Ridge Block and Buffalo Wings Recipe

Buffalo Ridge Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Rust/Brown:  Cut TWELVE (12) 2″ squares
  • Rust/Brown:  Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square
  • Yellow:  Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ x 5″ strips
  • Yellow:  Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/4″ squares.  Then cut this square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.  You will end up with a total of SIXTEEN (16) triangles when all of the squares are cut.
  • White:  Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares.  Then cut this square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2 times).  You will end up with a total of EIGHT (8) triangles when all of the squares are cut.

Quilt Block Construction Diagram:

Sew this together as you would a nine-patch quilt block.

  • Pink:  Cut TWO (2) 6 3/4″ squares.  Then cut each square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.  You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Green:  Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square.  Then cut each square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2 times).  You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
  • White:  Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square.  Then cut each square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2 times).  You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
