Cookies & Milk Quilt Square




Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Dark Green:  Cut TWO (2) 4 3/4″ squares.  Then cut a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time on each square.  You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Dark Green:  Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • Dark Green:  Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square.
  • Medium Green: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ squares.
  • Medium Green:  Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strips.
  • Medium Green:  Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares.  Then cut a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time on each square.  You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • White:  Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strips.
  • White:  Cut FOUR (4) 1 3/4″ squares.  Then cut a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time on each square.  You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.

Wild Goose Chase Quilt Block




Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • White:  Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares.
  • White:  Cut ONE (1) 6 1/2″ square.
  • White:  Cut THIRTY-TWO (32) 2″ squares.  Then draw a diagonal line on the back of the squares, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • White:  Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ squares.  Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2 times).  You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • Purple:  Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square.  Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2 times).  You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • Purple:  Cut SIXTEEN (16) 2″ x 3 1/2″ strips.
  • Blue:  Cut SIXTEEN (16) 2″ x 3 1/2″ strips.

Begin by making your Quarter-Square Triangles, then sew the White 2″ squares to the corners of your Purple and Blue strips to create your Flying Geese.  Finally, sew the left and right Flyging Geese strips to the center White square and sew the top and bottom Flying Geese and Quarter-Square Triangles to the center section.

Fishing Boat Quilt Block




Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Light Blue:  Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ strip.
  • Light Blue:  Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strips.
  • Light Blue (For Half-Square Triangles):  Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares.  Then draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, on the back of each square.
  • White (For Half-Square Triangles):  Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares.
  • Sea Blue (Corner Triangles):  Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares.  Then draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, on the back of each square.
  • Purple (For Boat):  Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ strip.

Quilt Block Construction Diagram:

Using this image (above) as a guide, sew your half-square triangles individually and then together.  Then sew your corner triangles to the boat.  Add your shorter light blue strips to the left and right side of your half-square triangle square.  Finally, sew the top sky and the bottom boat strip to your center section.

Puppy Love Quilt Block




Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Blue:  Cut TWO (2) 6 3/4″ squares.  Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.  You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Black:  Cut TWO (2) 1/2″ diameter circles – appliqued to the “Puppy Love” pieced quilt block.
  • Brown:  Cut ONE (1) 4 3/4″ square.  Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.  You will end up with TWO (2) triangles.
  • Brown:  Cut ONE (1) 5″ x 6 1/2″ strip.
  • White:  Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square.  Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times.  You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.  You only need ONE (1) triangle for this quilt block.
  • White:  Cut ONE (1) 9 1/4″ square.  Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times.  You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.  You only need TWO (2) triangles for this quilt block.
  • White:  Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square.  Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times.  You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.  You only need ONE (1) triangle for this quilt block.
  • White:  Cut TWO (2) 1 3/4″ squares.  Then draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, on the back side of each square.

Using this image (above) as a guide, lay out your center section so you have the correct sized pieces in order.  Then sew your “Puppy Love” quilt block together following the numbers and arrows, as shown.  Once you have the diamond sewn together, the last steps will be the corner triangles.

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Red:  Cut TWO (2) 2 1/4″ squares.  Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.  You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Red:  Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares.  Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.  You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Red:  Cut TWO (2) 1 1/4″ x 7 3/4″ strips.
  • Red:  Cut TWO (2) 1 1/4″ x 9″ strips.
  • Red:  Cut ONE (1) 5 1/2″ square.
  • Pink:  Cut SIX (6) 2 1/4″ squares.  Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.  You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Pink:  Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares.  Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.  You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Pink:  Cut ONE (1) 6 1/4″ square.  Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2 times).  You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
