Star in a Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/4″ squares. Then draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, on the back side of each square.
  • Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares. Then draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, on the back side of each square.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/4″ squares.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares.
  • White: Cut FIVE (3) 3″ squares.

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Blue: Cut SIX (6) 2 1/4″ squares. Then draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, on the back side of each square.
  • Grey: Cut SIX (6) 3 3/4″ squares. Then draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, on the back side of each square.
  • White: Cut SIX (6) 2 1/4″ squares.
  • White: Cut SIX (6) 3 3/4″ squares.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square.

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares.
  • White: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 2 1/4″ squares. Then draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, on the back side of each square.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ strips.
  • Orange: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 2 1/4″ squares.
  • Violet: Cut FIVE (5) 3 1/2″ squares.

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares.
  • White: Cut TEN (10) 2 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 2 1/4″ squares. Then draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, on the back side of each square.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1.2″ squares.
  • Yellow: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 2 1/4″ squares.
  • Blue: Cut FIVE (5) 2 1/2″ squares.

Missouri Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Salmon: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. Then draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, on the back side of each square.
  • Emerald Green: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares (for the center half-square triangles).
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.

  • White: Cut SIX (6) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
