The inspiration for this quilt comes from the Penguins in the original Madagascar movie!
When the penguins are sitting on the bench in Times Square, the police start moving in, to try to capture the escaped zoo animals. Rico is the leader of the Penguins. He tells his two friends to, “Smile & Wave” so they don’t look too conspicuous.
In other words: If you’re confronted with anything that’s not to your liking, all you need to do is “Smile & Wave” it away!
“Smile & Wave”
Designed by TK Harrison (that’s me 🙂 )!
This traditionally pieced quilt measures 67″ x 79” when finished.
The quilt blocks are 12” finished & 12 1/2” unfinished.
There are only TWO (2) blocks in this quilt if you make it as shown. Although you can make it larger or smaller depending on your preference.

There are SIX (6) rows that make up the “Smile & Wave” Quilt. They’re repeated THREE (3) times each:
There’s some Square in a Squares, several Half-Square Triangles & a few Flying Geese! If you can sew these elements together then you can make this quilt! Especially if you’re able to chain piece everything together!
