Evening’s Windmill Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Aqua: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Aqua 3 3/4″ squares. They are also paired with the Jade 3″ squares.)
- Aqua: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Jade 3 3/4″ squares. Then they are flanked by the results of the White
3 3/4″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese. They are also paired with the Aqua 3″ squares.) - Aqua: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Jade 3 3/4″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. Once all FOUR (4) of them are sewn together they will create the center of this quilt block.)
- Jade: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Aqua 3 3/4″ squares. They are also paired with the Jade 3″ squares.)
- Jade: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Aqua 3 3/4″ squares. Then they are flanked by the results of the White

- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the Aqua 3 3/4″ squares. They will also flank the results of the Jade 3 3/4″ squares. Once they are all sewn together they will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 5 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Jade 3 3/4″ squares. They are also paired with the White 3″ squares. Once they are all sewn together they will create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
