Magic Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Lt. Pink: Cut ONE (1) 4 5/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Pink
4 5/8″ square. Which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. When all sewn together they’ll also be the center of this quilt block.) - Lt. Pink: Cut TWO (2) 4 5/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 5/8″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners.)
- Pink: Cut ONE (1) 4 5/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Lt. Pink
4 5/8″ square. Which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. When all sewn together they’ll also be the center of this quilt block.) - Pink: Cut TWO (2) 4 5/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 5/8″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners.)
- Fuchsia: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Fuchsia 2 7/8″ squares. They’re also paired with the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares. When all sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- Fuchsia: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the Fuchsia 3 3/8″ squares. They’re also paired with the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares. When all sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 5/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Pink 4 5/8″ squares. They’re also paired with the Fuchsia 4 5/8″ squares. When all sewn together they’ll create EIGHT (8) Square in a Squares.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the Fuchsia 3 3/8″ squares. They’re also paired with the results of the Fuchsia 2 7/8″ squares. When all sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
