Sailboat Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Purple: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ rectangle. (This is paired with TWO (2) Blue 3 7/8″ squares which will create TWO (2) Snowball Corners. These Snowball Corners are also the lower left-hand & the lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Blue/White Half-Square Triangles as needed to sew this quilt block together. ONE (1) of these squares is the upper left-hand corner of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 7/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles. ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles is the upper right-hand corner of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Purple 3 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ rectangle which will create TWO (2) Snowball Corners. These Snowball Corners are also the lower left-hand & the lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 3 7/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles. ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles is the upper right-hand corner of this quilt block.)
