Feathers Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Navy Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ rectangles. (These are the horizontal & vertical centers of this quilt block.)
- Lt. Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 3 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners,)
- Lt. Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 3 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners.)
- Lt. Blue: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the White
2 1/2″ squares in the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.) - White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re paired with the results of the Blue 3 1/4″ squares.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. (These triangles will flank the Lt. Blue 3 3/8″ squares. They’ll also flank the results of the Lt. Blue 3 1/4″ squares.)

Sew TWELVE (12) “Feathers Quilt Blocks” to end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished & 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
