Double L Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
- Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles.
- Brown: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- Brown: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangle.
- Brown: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles.
- Brown: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ rectangle.
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
Double L Quilt Block Diagram
Sew the Snowball Corners for the Entire Quilt Block together first.
Then follow the rectangles below to sew the rest of the quilt block together. The upper right-hand & the lower left-hand sections are the same. So are the upper right-hand & the lower left-hand sections:
Next sew the left-hand side together followed by the right-hand side.
Finally sew the center of the quilt block together!
Double L Quilt
Sew TWELVE (12) “Double L Quilt Blocks” to end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished & 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
