Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Gold: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the Purple
4 7/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.) - Gold: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the Purple
5 1/4″ square. Then they’ll flank the results of the White 5 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.) - Purple: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. - Peach: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of either the Peach 2 7/8″ squares or the results of the Mint Green 2 7/8″ squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Peach: Cut ONE (1) 6 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the Mint Green 6 7/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Mint Green: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Peach 2 7/8″ squares. Then they’ll flank the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)

- White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are flanked by the results of the Gold
2 7/8″ squares & they’re also flanked by the results of the Mint Green 2 7/8″ squares. All together they’ll create FOUR (4) Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
