Turnabout Star Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Pink: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Pink 1 7/8″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles which will produce SIXTEEN (16) Snowball Corners. FOUR (4) of these Snowball Corners will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Quarter Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Pink 1 7/8″ squares, which will produce SIXTEEN (16) Snowball Corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Pink 1 7/8″ x
4 3/4″ rectangles as needed for this quilt block.) - White: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Pink 5 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Quarter Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
