Cheery Star Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Pink: Cut TWELVE (12) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Nine-Patch parts of this quilt block. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 4 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are flanked by the results of the White
2 3/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.) - Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are flanked by the results of the Pink 4 1/4″ squares & they’re also flanked by the results of the White 4 1/4″ squares. As needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWENTY-FOUR (24) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Nine-Patch sections of this quilt block. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Pink 4 1/4″ square which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese. They’ll also flank the White 3 1/4″ square & help create the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s flanked by the results of the White 2 3/8″ squares.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are flanked by the results of the Pink
4 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
