Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
- Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Pink 2 1/2″ x
4 1/2″ rectangles as needed for this quilt block.) - Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Yellow 2 1/2″ x
4 1/2″ rectangles as needed for this quilt block.) - Pink: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the White 3 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- Tan: Cut SIX (6) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the White 3 3/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are flanked by the results of the Pink 2 7/8″ squares & as well as the results of the Tan 2 7/8″ squares. They’ll create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares as needed for this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Broken Wheel Quilt Blocks,” you’ll end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
