Puppy Love Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

• Blue: Cut TWO (2) 7″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
• Brown: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block. (This will be flanked on TWO (2) sides by the results of the Brown 5″ square as needed for this quilt block. This will be the “Puppy’s Forehead”)
• Brown: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will be flanked on TWO (2) sides by the results of the White 5 1/4″ square & on ONE (1) other side by the results of the White 9 1/4″ square, as needed for this quilt block. These will be the “Puppy’s Ears”)
• Brown: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ rectangle. (This will be flanked on TWO (2) sides by the results of the White 4 1/4″ square as needed for this quilt block. This will be the “Puppy’s Face”)
• Black: Cut TWO (2) 1/2″ diameter circles. (You’ll need to appliqué these on the Brown 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ rectangle & the results of the Brown 5 1/4″ square, as needed for this quilt block. These will be the “Puppy’s eyes”)
• White: Cut TWO (2) 2″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Brown 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ rectangle & will create TWO (2) Snowball Corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
• White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These will flank the Brown 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ rectangle on ONE (1) side as needed for this quilt block.)
• White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These will flank the Brown 5 1/4″ square on ONE (1) side as needed for this quilt block.)
• White: Cut ONE (1) 6 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block. (This will flank the results of the Brown 5 1/4″ square as needed for this quilt block.)
• White: Cut ONE (1) 9 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block. (This will flank the Brown 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ rectangle on ONE (1) side as needed for this quilt block.)
