Frayed Sawtooth Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Green: Cut SIX (6) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Blue 2″ squares, which will create FIVE (5) Four-Patch’s, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Green: Cut TWO (2) 2″ squares. (These will flank on TWO (2) sides the White 2″ x 3 1/2″ strips, which will partially create a “frame” around the Four-Patch, in the center of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut SIX (6) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Green 2″ squares, which will create FIVE (5) Four-Patch’s, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut TWO (2) 2″ squares. (These will flank on two sides the White 2″ x 3 1/2″ strips, which will partially create a “frame” around the Four-Patch, in the center of this quilt block.)
- Gold: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. (These will flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares. (These are paired with either the Blue 2″ squares or the Green 2″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patch’s, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ strips. (These will be flanked by either the Blue 2″ squares or the Green 2″ squares, which will create a “frame” around the Four-Patch in the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the Gold 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)

- Pink: Cut TWO (2) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Purple 2″ squares, which will create a Four-Patch. This will also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut TWO (2) 2″ squares. (These will flank on TWO (2) sides the White 2″ x 3 1/2″ strips, which will partially create a “frame” around the Four-Patch, in the center of this quilt block.)
- Purple: Cut TWO (2) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Pink 2″ squares, which will create a Four-Patch. This will also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Purple: Cut TWO (2) 2″ squares. (These will flank on TWO (2) sides the White 2″ x 3 1/2″ strips, which will partially create a “frame” around the Four-Patch, in the center of this quilt block.)
- Turquoise: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These will be the four corner’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ strips. (These will be flanked by either the Pink 2″ squares or the Blue 2″ squares, which will create a “frame” around the Four-Patch, in the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the Turquoise 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
