Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Red: Cut FOUR (4) 4 1/2″ squares. (These will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.
- Navy Blue: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2 times). You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ square and the results of the Blue 5 1/4″ square, to create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut this square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2 times). You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ square and the results of the Navy Blue 5 1/4″ squares, to create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ squares. (This will be the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut this square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2 times). You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ square and the results of the Navy Blue 5 1/4″ squares, to create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)

- Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut this square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the Navy Blue 5 1/4″ squares, to create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 4 1/2″ squares. (These will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
