Woods Star Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These will be flanked on TWO (2) sides by the results of the Blue 3 1/4″ square as is needed for this quilt block.)
- Green: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 1/4″ squares to create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, which will also be the FOUR (4) corners, of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the White 3 1/4″ squares to create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles as is needed for this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut ONE (1) 3 5/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the White
3 5/8″ squares as is needed for this quilt block.) - White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These will flank TWO (2) sides of the results of the Blue 3 1/4″ square as is needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Green 3 1/4″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 3 1/4″ squares to create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles as is needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 5/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will be paired with, the results of the Blue 3 5/8″ square, as is needed for this quilt block.)

Woods Star Variation Quilt Block

- Yellow: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 7/8″ squares. (These will flank the results of the Pink 3 1/4″ squares & the White 3 1/4″ squares. FOUR (4) of these will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/4″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 1/4″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as is needed for this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut ONE (1) 3 5/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the White
