Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Gray: Cut FIVE (5) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with each other & will help create the center of this quilt block.)
- Gray: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 1/2″ squares. (These are flanked on ONE (1) side by the Blue 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangles & on ONE (1) other side by the results of the Blue 1 7/8″ squares. As needed for this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangles. (These are flanked by the Blue 1 1/2″ squares on ONE (1) side & on ONE (1) other side by the results of the the Blue 1 7/8″ squares As needed for this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Blue 1 1/2″ square on ONE (1) side & the results of the White 3 1/4″ square on ONE (1) other side. As needed for this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the White
2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as is needed for this quilt block.) - White: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side the square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Gray 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Blue 5 1/4″ squares to create the FOUR (4) Flying Geese as is needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Blue 1 1/2″ x
2 1/2″ rectangles on both sides as is needed for this quilt block.) - White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the Blue
1 7/8″ squares as is needed for this quilt block.) - White: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Circle Four Quilt Blocks,” you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
