Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

• Blue: Cut THREE (3) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares, which will create SIX (6) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
• Blue: Cut ONE (1) 2 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will flank the results of ONE (1) of the White 4 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
• Red: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ squares. (These will be the base fabrics for your “Templates & Placements for the Stars” appliqué. (Please click on the link so you can download the “Star” templates.)
• Red: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 4 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this.)
• White: Cut THREE (3) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 2 7/8″ squares, which will create SIX (6) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
• White: Cut ONE (1) 2 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will flank the results of ONE (1) of the White 4 3/4″ square as well as TWO (2) of the Blue/White Half-Square triangles needed for this quilt block.)
• White: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Red 4 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
• White: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8 square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of either the Blue 2 7/8″ squares or the White 2 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
• Fusible Web (optional): Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. (These can be used to adhere your “Star” templates to your Red 4 1/2″ base squares so that you can appliqué them to this quilt block.)
