Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Dark Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 1 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Light Blue 2 1/2″ squares & the White 2 1/2″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Nine-Patch portion’s of this quilt block.)
- Light Blue: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 1 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Blue 2 1/2″ squares & the White 2 1/2″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Nine-Patch portion’s of this quilt block.)
- Light Blue: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are paired on ONE (1) side with the Dark Blue
3 1/2″ squares as needed for this quilt block.) - White: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Light Blue 2 1/2″ squares & the Blue 2 1/2″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Nine-Patch portion’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. On the back side the square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Light Blue 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “White House Quilt Blocks,” you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
