On Cloud Nine: Easy Ways Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Salmon: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares. Then they’re paired with the results of the Salmon 4 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Split Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Salmon: Cut FOUR (3) 4 1/2″ squares. (These will flank the White 4 1/2″ square as needed for this quilt block.)
- Salmon: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the Salmon 2 1/2″ squares & the White 2 7/8″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Split Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This will be flanked by the Salmon 4 1/2″ square. It’s also the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Salmon 2 1/2″ squares. Then they’re paired with the results of the Salmon 4 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Split Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
