Wedding March Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 7/8″ squares, which will create ONE (1) Nine-Patch, see #2 on the Quilt Block Diagram below. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the White 1 7/8″ rectangles, see Step #3 on the Quilt Block Diagram, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the White 1 7/8″ squares & the results of the White 3 1/2″ squares. See #1 on the Quilt Block Diagram below. They’ll also help create the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FIVE (5) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Blue 1 7/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Nine-Patch, see #2 on the Quilt Block Diagram below. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWELVE (12) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are flanked by the results of the Blue 1 7/8″ squares. See #1 on the Quilt Block Diagram below. FOUR (4) of them will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (3) 3 1/2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are flanked by the results of the Blue 1 7/8″ squares. See #1 on the Quilt Block Diagram below. They’ll also help create the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Blue 1 7/8″ rectangles, see Step #3 on the Quilt Block Diagram below, as needed for this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Wedding March Quilt Blocks”, you would end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.

I need help with the corner block how does the 2 1/2 and the 3 1/2 squares go together.
Hi Rita! I just edited the instructions for this quilt block. Perhaps they’re easier to understand now? At least I hope they are! For the corner blocks sew the Blue triangles to the White squares first. Then sew the White larger triangles to each side of the newly created Blue/White section. That’s all there is to it! Be sure to look at this quilt block page before you start sewing the “Wedding March Quilt Block” together. When I edited it I edited some of the cutting instructions. It might make a difference in how your quilt block sews together. If you have further questions, don’t hesitate to contact me & I’ll try to respond as quickly as I can!
