Clay’s Star Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Gray: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Gray: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Green 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Green: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- Green: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Gray 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Green 3 1/2″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are to be paired with TWO (2) of the Gray squares to create half-square triangles.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Clay’s Star Quilt Blocks,” you’ll end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.

- Gray: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. (These are paired with the Gray 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are flanked by the results of the White 3 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the White 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
