Dutch Mill Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Gray: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares which will create TWO (2) Nine-Patch squares. ONE (1) will be the upper left-hand corner of this quilt block. The remaining ONE (1) will be the lower right-hand corner of this quilt block.)
- Gray: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of each of these squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the White 6 1/2″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Snowball corners. ONE (1) of these squares will be the lower left-hand corner of this quilt block. The remaining ONE (1) will be the upper right-hand corner of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TEN (10) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares which will create TWO (2) Nine-Patch squares. ONE (1) will be the upper left-hand corner of this quilt block. The remaining ONE (1) will be the lower right-hand corner of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 6 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Gray 2 7/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Snowball corners. ONE (1) of these squares will be the lower left-hand corner of this quilt block. The remaining ONE (1) will be the upper right-hand corner of this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Dutch Mill Quilt Blocks,” you’ll end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
